Barel delivers world-class electronics for demanding environments, including Ex-areas (explosive environments) within the oil and gas industry.

In August 2024, Barel merged with Aluwave AB in Gothenburg, Sweden, and we are now part of a larger lighting group with more than 130 employees and annual revenue of approximately NOK 270 million.   • Working language: Norwegian, another Scandinavian language, or English

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone with an interest in electronics and preferably experience in procurement.

Your qualifications (no absolute requirements — we value the person as much as the CV):

  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Technical understanding of electronics and components
  • Education in economics, logistics, or a related field (not a strict requirement)
  • Experience in procurement or supply chain management is an advantage

  • Structured and analytical
  • Self-driven and proactive
  • Strong communication skills in Norwegian/Swedish and English
  • Solution-oriented and quality-focused

What we’re looking for

As a Buyer with us, you will have a varied and challenging role with strong opportunities to shape your responsibilities over time. You will work with the procurement of electronic and mechanical components, negotiate with suppliers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our purchasing processes.

The role also offers opportunities to develop new areas of expertise and take on broader responsibilities as your experience grows. Since a significant portion of our purchases consists of electronic components or parts used in electronics, an interest in electronics is a major advantage.



Desired skills

  • Procurement of electronic and mechanical components as well as consumables
  • Purchase planning: analysis of MOQ (minimum order quantity), order volumes, and safety stock
  • Negotiating prices and terms with suppliers
  • Supplier evaluation, communication, and follow-up
  • Maintaining data in our ERP system (updating parts lists, etc.)
  • Monitoring KPIs/targets and reporting
  • Contributing to quality assurance and process improvements
